WITH
  • Use Charm to set up your combos, it will make landing Orb of Deception and Fox-Fire dramatically easier.
  • Initiate team fights using Charm, and chase down stragglers with Spirit Rush.
  • Spirit Rush enables Ahri's abilities, it opens up paths for Charm, helps double hitting with Orb of Deception, and closes to make use of Fox-Fire.
VERSUS
  • Ahri's survivability is dramatically reduced when her Ultimate, Spirit Rush, is down.
  • Stay behind minions to make Charm difficult to land, this will reduce Ahri's damage potential significantly.

Innately connected to the latent power of Runeterra, Ahri is a vastaya who can reshape magic into orbs of raw energy. She revels in toying with her prey by manipulating their emotions before devouring their life essence. Despite her predatory nature, Ahri retains a sense of empathy as she receives flashes of memory from each soul she consumes.

안녕하세요! (or Hi if you prefer) Today I am here to ramble a bit about AhriAhri, the nine tailed fox. And well..the reason this isn't a "From Zero to Hero" guide is simple; I haven't played Ahri in so long! But I did made it to Diamond Tier twice (Season 3 and Season 4) playing mostly Ahri, so I just wanted to share the knowledge I still have for her.

So, without further ado, let us get started!

2Why Ahri?

Why Ahri?You may ask me.



Well, Ahri is arguably one of the most versatile characters in League, you can play her as an assassin and quickly assassinate the enemy AD Carry, or you can choose to play her as a Control Mage and help your team on sieges pushing the minion waves and poking your enemies with Orb of Deception Orb Of Deception.

In summary, mastering Ahri allows you to have a better understanding of these two play styles and makes it easier for you to learn other similar champions due to that.

If you want to become a good Mid Laner, learning Ahri is certainly going to be helpful for you, so stick with me!

3Summoner Spells


You can either choose

Flash Ignite
or
Flash Teleport




Though this is more of a personal option, I personally believe that picking Ignite over anything else is worth it, but that's because I absolutely prefer playing the role of an assassin rather than a control mage, and Ignite Ignite, without a doubt, fits this play style really well.

4Abilities and How to Use Them

As a Mid Laner, most likely you want to maximize your Q first, followed by W and E. Below, I will go over this in detail, so definitely take a look at it

Orb Of Deception Orb of Deception : There are various reasons why you would maximize this skill over the all the others, Orb Of Deception is your primary source of damage when fighting and also the perfect option for shoving the wave and poking you enemies.

PROTIP: Make sure you hit both parts of the skill when fighting to potencialize your burst damage.

Fox-Fire Fox-Fire : Many Ahri players may argue that maxing the Fox-Fire second is not as good, for me though, maxing the W is actually pretty good for three main reasons:

Firstly, you are guaranteed to hit it on a 1v1 fight.

Secondly, although CharmCharm does a bit more damage and scales a lot more, Fox-Fire's cooldown time is way lower than than Charm's cooldown time.

Lastly, Fox-Fire is more 'spammable' due to its low mana cost, whereas charm costs a ton!

Charm Charm : Scales a lot, good CC and damage, but it is a bit hard to hit when you are playing against decent players. It fits really well her kit, use it wisely especially on the early game because its mana cost, as well as its cooldown time is really high!

5Runes

As I think this guide will be longer than usual I will try to shorten this section for a bit and only cover a few runes



Now, in the Runes Section above I suggested taking the Domination Domination tree followed by the Sorcery Sorcerytree as secondary choice and I will explain why I think this is one of the best combination of runes forAhri Ahri.

As I said above, I love playing assassin Ahri rather than a control mage, so for me not only ElectrocuteElectrocute, but the whole Domination tree are one of the best options to rapidly murder your target, so for me it fits both the champion and the play style really well.

Now, on the Sorcery tree, in particular The Ultimate Hat and Transcendence. Well, if you wanna play more aggressively chasing and killing vulnerable enemies all the time you gotta be able to spam your skills, right?

6Good Resources for Learning Ahri

So, I just wanted to drop this section here because it has been 2 years since I one tricked Ahri for the last time and these two guys were my inspiration to learn Ahri and one trick her.

One of them is 아리는아리아리함 obviously a Korean player that one tricked Ahri before and has a cool little montage, I hope you guys can learn a lot from this:



I know this is kinda old but still an awesome montage, I hope you enjoyed it.

The other one is Vertigal, he's been an Ahri main for 7 or 8 years now, definitely check out his channel, he has awesome guides!

This build is incredibly awesome for Ahri, I have tried it recently and it feels really good for the Assassin play style, you get a lot of damage from Luden's Echo Luden's Echo and Hextech GunbladeHextec Gunblade and a good source of Magic Penetration and CDR from the other items, it's overall a pretty well balanced build.

Situational Items

Rabadon's Deathcap
Mercury's Treads
Hextech Protobelt-01


Since these are situational items I'll explain one by one, let's go.

Banshee's VeilBanshee's Veil:
Usually you want to avoid getting hit by any CC or strong magic damage, but in some cases, avoiding those kinds of things is nearly impossible, for example, you can't avoid Veigar Veigar's R or Annie
Annie's Q because, obviously, they are point-and-click abilities, so in cases like this, Banshee's Veil might be a good purchase.

Rabadon's DeathcapRabbadon's Death Cap: If more damage and the enemies aren't building any magic resistance you can straight up just go for this one!


Mercury's TreadsMercury Treads: Good option if you have to deal with annoying CC in lane, I'd go for that in a matchup against Veigar.

Hextech Protobelt-01Hextec Protobelt-01: You can go for that instead of Hextec Gunblade, I would usually choose for this one when I feel like I need to chase further than my ultimate can go. It is also a great option for AoE damage and suits really well with Luden's Echo.


Well, that is it for this section and for the guide! I am sorry that I couldn't cover more stuff on this guide, but that's because I haven't played her in so long so I was afraid that my knowledge wouldn't be enough :(
