Ashes of Creation - Sandbox MMORPG by Intrepid Studios
Hello guys, i want to bring your attention on this new MMORPG-sandbox that is currently in development and has recently started a kickstarter campaign.
The game seems very promising, at least in the concept, and it has already been successfully funded by far exceeding the goal of $ 750,000.
So i've opened this thread to follow and discuss about this game, which probably will remain in development for at least the next 2-3 years.
Honestly, this game sounds fantastic. It looks like exactly the kind of game I'd like to play. I wish you much success, and I hope that you will keep us updated.
I love the concept of dynamic game play. That will also make it an alt friendly game, if no experience is repeated (unless you choose for it to be repeated).
This looks exciting. I hate to get too hyped though because the last game that was in development that I got really excited about ended up being cancelled. I'll keep my eye on this one though and hopefully see it happen (and play it!) Again, please keep us posted.
I really appreciate the ability to, essentially, multiclass. It allows for a lot of customization without needing to make each individual class have an overwhelming number of options. It also means there are at least 28 permutations - though I assume order matters so there are actually many more. Sounds great for someone who loves alts, such as myself!
I do have to ask, does anybody else feel like 'Tank' as an archetype stands out like a sore thumb? It's pretty standard on a meta level, but every other class is a bog-standard fantasy one that makes sense to be called in-universe. Tank is just odd in comparison. I'd expect it to be Knight or something along those lines.

Hmmm, I hadn't given that much thought until you mentioned it. Good feedback. I was getting too happy about this game looking really fun. The name tank is a bit bland, although instantly recognizable. Knight, protector... yeah. Maybe it's just a placeholder until they can come up with something more unique?
"Fighter" also seems a bit ... generic. Warrior, soldier, hero, champion, I don't know - something besides just plain fighter might be good. That's kind of like mages just being called spell casters instead.
